*   There are several meanings Penglipuran. The first means of relaxation for since the time of the 
     kingdom had become a resort. But some are saying comes from the word Pengeling Pura, which  
     means a  holy place for remembering the ancestors.
 
*  Polygamy is not allowed in this village. If there are people who dare to do so, although it felt to be

    be praying in  the temple and the marriage is not sanctioned by traditional leaders.

*  Along the main road to the south, you will find a hero monument neatly arranged. This monument was 
    built to commemorate the heroism and the services of Anak Agung Gede Anom Mudita or better  
    known as Captain Mudita, who died fighting the Netherlands on 20 November 1947.
